i have absolutely no idea where this comes from. it this a pop culture reference i haven't encountered? anyone? it's terribly bizarre to hear.

i almost didn't bid on them because i noticed the seller had included the following sentence in the description:
they are from a relative who has passed away.
and i can't help but wonder if that isn't why i was the only one who bid on them, considering the fierce competition on a full set with pitcher i was beat out on. anyhow, i realize when you go around buying something from 1959, there's a chance it belonged to a dead person. but do you really have to go around pointing it out?
