happy new year!

i feel like i should be making some big post as a last hurrah just before crossing the 2009 finish line. but, there's seitan bubbling on the range and baking in the oven and everyone is dancing around me and waiting for my cooking to finish so we can go to sol's for dinner.

something ate up the first part of our day more than usual and i can't figure out what it was. we finally got out into the misty grey to do mundane things like pick up vital wheat gluten at whole foods, where oliver got to ride in the cart with a little car attached underneath it. we stumbled across these bottles of drink mix with nothing nasty in them, so we grabbed the mojito version, which meant we also had a trip to sigel's for rum (and cheap, pink champagne) in our future. then to the target to get itunes gift cards for my niece's 18th birthday tomorrow.

it was something ridiculous like 3pm by the time we returned. oliver was awake and watching for trains to cross right in front of our car while brian was in sigel's for the liquor run and less than 10 minutes later, we were in our parking lot and oliver was all lights out. of course, by the time brian could carry oliver up the back steps and to his bed, the 45 second nap had reignited his fire and the game was back on, despite further efforts.

i made the msitake of eating an avocado/almond cheeze/tofurky sandwich too late in the day, so now dinner does not sound so awesome anymore.

i've lost the usb cable for the camera. there's been this post sitting out there for like, a week and a half. i suppose i should just get over it already and grace the internet with a photo-free post.

oliver's pissed and wailing because the electric guitar fun is over and brian has just proclaimed he doesn't think he'll make it through dinner. hurrah! this should be a fun evening!

happy new year! today is still 2009!
