trying to get oliver to take a nap, which has been becoming increasingly difficult. he just sang to me: "it's so funny how we don't talk anymore."
since he's decided to start messing with the volume knob on the hello kitty jambox, brian and i find ourselves hollering for him to turn that music down. those kids and their new-fangled 70s soft rock.
he "worked" non-stop at school this morning. didn't even stop for a snack or to pee. did you know montessori people don't call toys "toys"? they call them "works". i didn't notice that until the end of last school year. talk about sucking the fun out.
my father has been bed-ridden for four or five weeks with a ruptured disc. he somehow managed to get in for surgery yesterday lickety split and they lopped that thing off and shellacked it and sent him home a couple of hours later.
