groovy dad

results of my civic duty.

after we pulled into the parking lot at stonewall jackson elementary, i asked a man walking by how the lines were. he said it was totally smooth, so i left the bag of tricks in the car.

i checked in at the first table with no one in front of me. we walked down to the library. well, i walked us down to the library. i don't think there was another voter even in there. only one came in after me. i voted straight party and asked for a sticker, which i quickly placed on oliver's tshirt. he placed his hand on it and kept it there for the next 30 minutes.

everything went so quickly, i was actually going to be early arriving back home, so i swung by starbucks for a victory chocolate donut and sparkling san pellegrino.

joann was out on her porch by the time we had gotten upstairs, so we went back down to thank her for oliver's secret halloween card, which she had left on our doorstep last friday. he loves knocking on the window and saying 'joann. joann.' whenever he sees her out there, but he clammed up while we were downstairs. he hasn't seen her much lately.

how i wish i had an election night event to attend.

ps: i also wore blue underpants. but i couldn't find oliver's donkey hat.
